Different tango styles...

Two different tango styles for dancing "Oblivion", a tango by Astor Piazzolla...

One by Claudia Miazzo and Jean-Paul Padovani and the other by Amanda and Adrian Costa.

Whereas to some extent, Adrian Costa's style seems to give in to some of the macho stereotypes about tango, the ponytail, the assured way the Latin male leads his partner, the couple's  technique is perfect and there is a lot of passion in their dance. We must also remember this is an improvisation, which is the way tango should be danced as there has to be perfect communication between the two partners.

On the other hand, Claudia Miazzo anf Jean-Paul's Padovani's version is at least partly, if not entirely choreographed. This doesn't take away the beauty and the elegance of their style.

While tango must remain true to its essence, it also has to find news ways of evolving and adapting to the contemporary world.
